It’s (10?) years later, and Tyler comes off as an ass, there were some jokes that could be considered offensive, Josh is kind of pathetic since he’s still pining over Tyler’s brother-the guy who still claims he’s straight and refuses to even acknowledge the fact that he ever dated (or has sex with) Josh, who was his best friend.

It made me dislike Tyler, which might not make much sense but that’s because you don’t know how cringey that scene is. He is stopped before Josh can catch on to what he’s trying to do, but still, that’s where my dislike of the book stemmed from (and the commas). He’s the ex-boyfriend (ish) of Tyler’s (asshole) lawyer brother and the beginning (prologue) of the book featured a 16-year-old Tyler trying shamelessly, and desperately, to get a 24-year-old Josh to sleep with him. Josh is the guy Tyler has the biggest crush on as a teenager. The alone time is supposed to help him stay out of trouble until things die down. Tyler, who is often (read: always) treated like a spoiled brat incapable of getting anything right, is sent to live in a secluded cabin/vacation home. He tells his older brother, who’s a lawyer, about the situation that has arisen and about the shit storm that’s about to hit, and it’s all damage control measures after that. Tyler didn’t even know that the video still existed. Then a video is released online of him as a teenage having a threesome with two guys. He’s an actor and he has a movie coming out that could be huge for his career. Except I obviously didn’t and the book won me over. And I didn’t like the characters much either… I almost stopped reading. I didn’t have very high expectations to begin with and the first few chapters didn’t have the best punctuation (I hate when people mess up commas) which made a bad impression.
